Poster for Simmer Down: Bryde + Purple Dots

Sunday tunes + food, with acoustic sets from Bryde and Purple Dots.

About the event

Simmer Down is our new Sunday lunchtime of live music and food. The first one has acoustic sets from Bryde and Purple Dots, with music from 1pm.

Bryde is Sarah Howells, a singer, songwriter and guitarist from West Wales. The Sunday Times has praised her "stunning, feral guitar" and "torn-from-the-chest lyrics… sensational". Her debut album, Like an Island, was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize, and her second, The Volume of Things, came out on Easy Life Records.

Purple Dots is Ryan Felvus, a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Rotherham. His debut album is psychedelic indie rock in the spirit of The Stone Roses and Wunderhorse. On the record he's backed by Erroll Rollins (The Human League) on drums and Joel White (Pulp) on keys. Here he's playing an acoustic set.

Food's on too, but it isn't included in the ticket price. Watch our socials for the menu. Families welcome.
